XBOX loses three games forever and not even their buyers will be able to download them again

Digital game removals from the Microsoft Store are relatively common. Whether due to licenses, business agreements, or publisher decisions, some titles stop being sold over time. However, in most cases, those who purchased them can still download them from their library.

This is not what happened with three indie games that have just disappeared from Xbox. On this occasion, the titles have received what is known as a total removal, a situation extremely rarely seen that even prevents owners from re-downloading them.

Three games vanish from Xbox without a trace

The affected games are Creepy Tale, Creepy Tale 2, and Strike Force Kitty, which have been completely removed from the Xbox Store. According to the developer, the situation is related to a legal dispute with their former publisher, No Gravity Games.

The studio claims that the publisher failed to comply with the agreement between the two parties and has not paid royalties for years, a dispute that ultimately led to the total removal of the games from digital stores.

The most striking thing is that not even those who purchased these titles can download them currently on Xbox, something that only happens in very exceptional circumstances. Normally, a removed game remains available in the digital library of its owners.

The problem does not only affect Xbox. The three games have already disappeared from the Nintendo eShop and are also scheduled to be removed from the PlayStation Store in the coming days.

For now, there is no release date for their possible return. The developer has acknowledged that it is a slow and complex process, although they hold out hope that the games can return to digital stores in the future, likely with a new publisher. In the meantime, this becomes one of the most unusual cases of digital removal in Xbox history.
