Xbox Game Pass continues to expand its catalog of new releases for July and has just confirmed a new addition that’s sure to generate buzz among cooperative horror fans. After a brief delay in development, Shift at Midnight now has a definitive release date and will be available from day one for subscribers to the service.
The title, developed by Ben Muen and published by Kwalee, offers a unique blend of management, cooperation, and scares in a single experience.
Shift at Midnight arrives on Xbox Game Pass on July 22
Initially scheduled for June 17, the release was delayed by a few weeks to allow the studio to polish the final details before its debut. Now it’s official: Shift at Midnight will be available on July 22, 2026 on Xbox Game Pass.
In this peculiar cooperative adventure for up to three players, you’ll need to work together with your teammates to keep a gas station running during the night shift. Your main tasks will include:
- Restocking shelves.
- Receiving and organizing new orders.
- Keeping the store clean.
- Serving customers and meeting sales targets.
However, things won’t be as simple as they seem. As you try to keep the business afloat, strange events will begin to disrupt the norm, forcing the team to stick together to survive the horrors that lurk during the early hours.
With a mix of management, cooperation, and psychological horror, Shift at Midnight is shaping up to be one of the most original offerings to hit Xbox Game Pass this July. If you’re looking for a unique experience to play with friends, be sure to mark July 22 on your calendar.
