Marathon takes a significant step forward in its evolution with the arrival of its first major update. Bungie has launched the highly anticipated mid-season patch, which introduces new content, balance adjustments, and a more accessible experience for players.
This isn’t just a minor technical tweak. This update marks a turning point after launch, especially with the changes to balance and the introduction of new ways to play.
Event, new mode, and important adjustments now available in Marathon
One of the most significant changes comes with the Recon class, which had been one of the most criticized for its imbalance. With this update, Bungie introduces adjustments that aim to balance it with the rest of the classes and improve its performance in matches.
Additionally, the game adds new weapons (based on existing ones, but with variations in their characteristics) along with adjustments to the behavior of the armament and visual improvements to the inventory to facilitate object identification.
The content also expands with the arrival of the temporary event C.A.R.R.I. (CyberAcme: Reinforcement for Infiltration), which allows players to complete specific objectives and earn exclusive rewards, including a special title.
On the other hand, Bungie has introduced a new experimental playlist designed for those seeking a more balanced experience. In this mode, all players access with predefined equipment, eliminating advantages and focusing the confrontation on skill.
This update is now available on all platforms and serves as a prelude to what’s coming in Season 2, where the introduction of new options like permanent duo mode is expected.
