When Rockstar Games released the highly anticipated Enhanced Edition of Red Dead Redemption for Xbox Series in December 2025, they also confirmed excellent news for owners of the original digital version on Xbox 360: they could upgrade to the new edition for free, without needing to repurchase it.

Several months have passed since then, but today, July 17th, upon accessing the Xbox Store, we’ve verified that the promotion is still active for compatible accounts. If you didn’t claim the upgrade back then, it’s worth checking, as you might still find it available with a 100% discount.

Check if you can download it for free too

Players who purchased the digital version of Red Dead Redemption for Xbox 360 (or have it registered through Xbox backward compatibility) should see the Enhanced Edition appear as a free download from the game’s page.
