Elden Ring continues to expand its universe, and this time it does so with one of the most anticipated expansions by fans. FromSoftware officially announced Elden Ring: Nightreign – The Forsaken Hollows during the State of Play held tonight, confirming its release for December 4, 2025. The new content promises to be a true revolution within the world of the Lands Between.
In this expansion, players will be able to discover “The Forgotten Caves”, a new region filled with secrets, new enemies, and two brand-new playable characters.
On one hand, there’s the Scholar, a powerful mage who combines arcane magic and light sword combat; and on the other, the Gravedigger, a warrior who bases his strength on the combination of Strength and Faith, ideal for players who prefer direct confrontations with a divine touch.
Artorias returns and the map expands with the Great Hollow
The trailer shown at the event left one of the biggest surprises: the return of Artorias, one of the most mythical characters in the Souls universe, who will appear as one of the main bosses of the DLC.
Additionally, FromSoftware announced the arrival of two additional bosses and the expansion of the map with a new area called the Great Hollow, an underground environment that will allow exploring the depths of Limveld with a level of detail never seen before.
Owners of the Deluxe Edition of Elden Ring will be able to access the DLC at no additional cost, while the rest will be able to purchase it separately. With this expansion, FromSoftware promises a darker and more demanding experience, reaffirming Elden Ring as one of the most experimental titles within the saga.
