We’ve reached the midpoint of 2025, and as we take stock of the year so far, announcements keep popping up that shake off our nostalgia. Instead of looking solely at what’s to come, today we’re celebrating the return of a legendary arcade horror game.
The House of the Dead is one of those sagas that marked an entire generation, just like other SEGA classics like Virtua Cop. Those who spent hours in arcades, wielding light guns and facing hordes of zombies, know exactly what we’re talking about. And now, right in the middle of the year, we have confirmation of a highly anticipated return.
The House of the Dead 2 Remake is coming to Xbox in early August
Following the release of the remake of the first title a couple of years ago – which pleasantly surprised fans – SEGA has officially announced The House of the Dead 2 Remake. This new chapter not only aims to keep the essence of the original games alive but also to renew the experience for a new generation. And it already has a release date set for August 7th, just a month away.
The developers have worked hard to preserve the spirit of the original game, ensuring that the remake is faithful to the experience that players remember, but with significant improvements in terms of graphics, sound, and gameplay. We hope you’ll stick with us to learn more about this eagerly awaited return.
