Over the past few months, there have been doubts about how the localization of Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis would be, but now there’s no room for interpretation. The official information published by its developers has definitively confirmed the languages that will be available at launch and leaves news that won’t please some Spanish players.

After years of receiving Spanish dubbing in the main series, Lara Croft won’t have Spanish voices from Spain in this occasion. The game will be fully translated into our language, but those who want to play with Spanish voices will have to resort to the Latin American dubbing.
Lara Croft loses Spanish dubbing in her new adventure
According to official information, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis will have full audio and text in the following languages:
- English
- French
- German
- Latin American Spanish
- Brazilian Portuguese
- Polish
- Simplified Chinese
On the other hand, the following languages will be available only through text:
- Spanish from Spain
- Italian
- Japanese
- Korean
- Traditional Chinese
This means that Spanish players will be able to enjoy all menus, subtitles, and interface adapted to Spanish, but they won’t have access to a specific Spanish dubbing. The only Spanish voice option available will be the Latin American dubbing.
This decision contrasts with other recent major releases that have opted to offer independent dubbing for Spain. For now, no future update has been announced that will add Spanish voices, so everything points to this being the available configuration when the game hits the market.
We’ll have to wait and see the community’s reaction, but the confirmation is already generating debate among fans who were expecting to hear Lara Croft with Spanish dubbing again.
