There are games that appear without making much noise and, suddenly, become one of the names of the moment. That’s exactly what has happened with Windrose, a proposal that has just premiered in early access on PC and is already leaving figures that are hard to ignore.
In just 48 hours, the game has surpassed 500,000 copies sold, a start that puts it directly on the radar of many players… and also of those who are waiting to see it on console.
Windrose could arrive on Xbox after its PC release
From the studio itself, they have wanted to clarify the situation. Although there is nothing confirmed in the short term, they have made it clear that they would like to bring Windrose to consoles like Xbox in the future. That said, right now their priority is another: finishing the full development of the game on PC.
The team is focused on launching version 1.0, so any movement towards console will come later. Even so, the interest is there, and that’s already an important sign considering the success it’s having.
Additionally, the game already has controller compatibility, which would facilitate its adaptation to console in the future.
Windrose offers a PvE survival experience in an open world, with exploration, building, and combat both on land and at sea. It can be played solo or in co-op for up to eight players, which fits quite well with the type of experiences that usually work on Xbox.
For now, there are no dates or concrete plans, but seeing how it’s started on Steam, it wouldn’t be surprising if it ends up making the jump to Xbox sooner rather than later.
