If you’ve been racking up points in Microsoft Rewards, the coming weeks could be a game-changer. Microsoft has started rolling out the biggest update the program has seen in years, introducing new user levels, more bonuses, and a significant improvement in how you can earn points.
For many gamers, this could translate to something very concrete: building up enough balance to buy big releases like GTA 6 while spending much less money or, in some cases, without paying a dime out of pocket.
Microsoft promises up to seven times more points
The revamped Microsoft Rewards introduces a system divided into three levels:
- Member
- Silver
- Gold
Each category will offer different perks, but it’s the Gold level that will pack the most significant improvements. According to Microsoft, some users can earn up to seven times more points than with the current system, thanks to new multipliers and rewards.
- More points for everyday activities.
- Monthly bonuses.
- New challenges within the Xbox ecosystem.
- Additional discounts when redeeming gift cards.
- More exclusive promotions for active users.
Some players have already reserved GTA 6 using only points
The system is already proving its worth. Just a few days ago, a player shared that they had managed to reserve the Ultimate Edition of GTA 6, valued at $99.99, using 98,000 Microsoft Rewards points converted into Microsoft Store balance.
Until now, accumulating that amount could take around eight months of searching with Bing, completing surveys, unlocking achievements, and participating in daily program activities. With the new model, that process could be significantly accelerated for those who maintain a consistent activity level.
With Grand Theft Auto VI set to release on November 19th, there are still several months to keep racking up points. If Microsoft delivers on its promises, many gamers could reach the launch with a significant portion of the game paid for… or even with enough balance to get it without spending a single euro.
