The name of Spyro is once again making waves as the year comes to a close. After months of rumors and official silence, a new hint has caught the attention of the community and reignited speculation about the possible return of the little dragon with a brand-new installment.
While there’s no official announcement, the source of the rumor hasn’t gone unnoticed and has put the series back at the center of the conversation, especially among those who have been waiting for a sequel following the success of Spyro Reignited Trilogy.
A Key Mention Pointing to Spyro 4
- The hint comes from the LinkedIn profile of a former conceptual artist at Toys for Bob. In their professional experience, Yatomi mentions having worked on franchises like Call of Duty and Spyro between 2022 and 2024. This detail is significant, as no new game in the series has been released since 2018, aside from the remastered trilogy.
This has led many to believe that this work might be related to Spyro 4 or, at the very least, a new project set in the purple dragon’s universe. It wouldn’t be the first time a game’s development has been revealed indirectly through professional profiles before its official announcement.
Additionally, since 2024, there have been rumors that Toys for Bob has a new Spyro project in the works. That same year, the studio became independent after its time under Activision and Microsoft, later signing a publishing agreement with Xbox for their next game. To this day, the content of that agreement remains a mystery.
For now, everything points to a solid but unconfirmed rumor. Some voices even suggest that a possible announcement could happen in January, coinciding with an Xbox event. Until then, hope is once again alive for fans dreaming of seeing Spyro fly again in a brand-new adventure.
