Slowly but surely, we’re uncovering more details about Forza Horizon 6, and now it’s time to dive into one of the most crucial aspects for the community: multiplayer. Playground Games has already given us a glimpse of several online modes that will be available in the new installment, and the selection clearly points to an experience that’s heavily focused on Japanese car culture.
Drifting, technical racing, cooperative challenges, and more arcade-like modes will coexist within the massive map set in Japan, which will arrive this year on Xbox Series and Xbox Game Pass.
These are the confirmed multiplayer modes for Forza Horizon 6
Among the already confirmed online modes, we have both classic options from the series and new proposals that are heavily focused on technical competition and drifting:
- Horizon Racing
- Spec Racing
- Touge Showdown
- Horizon Drift
- The Eliminator
- Hide & Seek
- Custom Racing
- Custom Drift
- CoLab
One of the modes that’s generating the most interest is Touge Showdown, which is clearly inspired by Japan’s famous mountain racing. Everything suggests that it will take full advantage of the new mountainous areas and winding roads in the map.
Drifting is also getting a lot of attention, thanks to specific modes like Horizon Drift and Custom Drift, which is logical given the Japanese setting of this installment and the huge influence of JDM culture within the Horizon community.
On the other hand, Playground Games will continue to maintain more traditional and social experiences like The Eliminator, Hide & Seek, and customized modes for creating your own races and events.
Forza Horizon 6 will arrive on May 19, 2026, on Xbox Series, PC, and Xbox Game Pass, and everything suggests that it will be one of the most ambitious installments in the series, both in terms of content and online possibilities.
