Bandai Namco has surprised with the announcement of Dragon Ball Age 1000, a new project set in the universe created by Akira Toriyama, which for now remains shrouded in mystery. The revelation took place during the early hours of January 25 and confirms that we are facing a title still in a very early stage of communication.

What little has been officially shared points to a planned release for 2027, with no platforms confirmed at the moment. Nevertheless, everything suggests that the game will eventually arrive on current and next-generation systems, although Bandai Namco prefers not to confirm anything until further notice.

A long-term project with Toriyama’s seal of approval

One of the most relevant details is that the game includes a brand-new character designed by Akira Toriyama before his passing, making Dragon Ball Age 1000 a particularly significant project for fans of the saga. According to the information provided, development has been underway for around seven years, counting its initial conceptual phase.

The trailer shown doesn’t delve into gameplay details and instead focuses on presenting the overall tone of the project, described as a new Dragon Ball adventure with classic and new characters. Bandai Namco has confirmed that more information will be revealed during the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026 event, taking place on April 18 and 19 in Los Angeles, where we can expect to learn more about the game’s structure and gameplay.

During the same announcement, additional news was also shared for other titles in the franchise, including free content and a large-scale DLC, reinforcing the idea that Dragon Ball will continue to play a very active role in Bandai Namco’s catalog over the next few years.
