The fight against cheating in console games has entered a new phase. EA has confirmed that it is working directly with Microsoft and Sony to stop users seeking an unfair advantage in Battlefield 6, one of the most important releases in the competitive shooter genre this 2025.

In a recent interview with PushSquare, Christian Buhl, technical director of Battlefield Studios, ensured that there will be zero tolerance for cheaters: “It’s a real shame that cheating has become such a big problem on consoles, especially with the arrival of systems like Cronus Zen. We are working actively with PlayStation and Microsoft to stop cheaters and detect their activity in real-time”.

Cronus Zen and other cheats under scrutiny in Battlefield 6

• Cronus devices, widely used in titles like Call of Duty: Warzone, allow artificial advantages such as recoil elimination, macros for instant reactions, or even automatic aiming assistance. Although they don’t technically modify the game, they alter the multiplayer experience and negatively affect those who play fairly.

EA ensures that the new anti-cheat system in Battlefield 6 will be able to detect this type of practice, as well as immediately penalize those who use it. According to Buhl, “we want to preserve fair play and competitive integrity as much as possible, and we will do everything possible to ensure a fair and cheat-free multiplayer environment”.
