As The Witcher 4 development continues to advance, new information is sparking the interest of fans of the saga. According to a recent rumor, CD Projekt RED may be preparing a completely different project that would arrive before the next major main adventure.
The leak talks about a free-to-play cooperative game set in the world of The Witcher, intended for PC and mobile devices, although for now, there is no official confirmation from the Polish studio.
The alleged project would take players back to the time of a young Geralt
The information comes from MP1st, which cites anonymous sources close to the development. According to this report, CD Projekt is secretly working on a free-to-play action RPG for PC, iOS, and Android. Although it might initially remind us of The Witcher Sirius, the multiplayer spin-off that was in the hands of The Molasses Flood, the sources assure that it would be a completely different project.
According to these rumors, the adventure would be set around the year 1230, when Geralt of Rivia was still a young witcher. Instead of controlling a single protagonist, players would be part of a group of witchers tasked with exploring dangerous regions and completing contracts to defeat monsters, specters, and other creatures.
- Cooperative mode.
- Free-to-play model.
- Release planned for PC and mobile devices.
- Extensive skill tree.
- Use of Signs, potions, and combat techniques.
- Missions focused on monster hunting.
For now, it’s best to take all this information with caution. CD Projekt has not officially announced this project, and the details come from unconfirmed sources.
What the company has made clear in recent days is that it has big plans for the world of The Witcher. In addition to The Witcher 4, the studio has already mentioned its intention to expand the franchise with new projects over the next few years, so the appearance of a complementary title wouldn’t be an unlikely possibility.
