Crimson Desert has received a new update on Xbox Series, and there’s one change that’s catching players’ attention. Patch 1.02.00 is now available, bringing significant improvements, but one stands out above the rest on Xbox Series X.
Until now, the performance mode was one of the most debated aspects of the game since its release. However, this update introduces an improvement that completely changes the experience in this mode.
Crimson Desert adds 4K scaling to performance mode on Xbox Series X
With patch 1.02.00, the game incorporates a 4K scaling option within the performance mode on Xbox Series X, something that was only available in Quality and Balanced modes until now. This change allows for a sharper image without sacrificing the focus on smoothness.
Initial impressions after the update are very positive, with players highlighting that this improvement makes a clear difference compared to the previous version of the performance mode, which was heavily criticized at launch.
However, keep in mind that performance can still be variable in certain moments. Before the patch, this mode could drop below 60 FPS, hovering around 45 FPS in some situations. Therefore, having a VRR-compatible screen can help smooth out the experience.
In addition to this improvement, the update also includes fixes for V-Sync behavior when opening the control panel on Xbox and general improvements to FSR scaling quality on all platforms. A significant step towards further refining the game’s performance on console.
