The future of the Red Dead Redemption saga remains a mystery, especially with Grand Theft Auto VI hogging all the attention within Rockstar Games. Nevertheless, some people are already thinking about what could come next… and not necessarily from within the studio.
During a recent interview, Jack Black dropped a rather peculiar idea: he’d love to be part of a hypothetical Red Dead Redemption 3, but not just in any way. His proposal involves playing a character with the same name, with real historical roots.
Jack Black wants to appear in Red Dead Redemption 3 as a real outlaw
The actor explained that there’s a historical figure named Jack Black, a Wild West outlaw who lived between the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This individual was a thief, vagabond, and expert safe-cracker, as well as the author of an autobiography titled You Can’t Win, where he recounted his life on the wrong side of the law.
- The actor’s idea is clear: to bring that Jack Black to life within the saga’s universe, fitting perfectly into the tone of the world we already saw in Red Dead Redemption 2. It wouldn’t be a humorous cameo, but a character with a real basis and potential to integrate into the setting.
For now, there’s no official confirmation that Red Dead Redemption 3 is in development, but this kind of proposal makes it clear that the saga still generates interest. Meanwhile, rumors about a next-gen update for the second installment continue to circulate, indicating that the franchise still has a long way to go.
