Unexpected movement within one of the most important companies in the sector. Take-Two Interactive has decided to dismiss its specialized artificial intelligence team, a decision that comes at a particularly delicate time for the industry.
The information has come to light after confirming the departure of Luke Dicken, head of this division, along with his entire team. A significant change considering that, until recently, the company itself defended the use of AI as a key tool for game development.
Take-Two changes its AI strategy in the midst of GTA 6 development
According to reports, this team had been working for years on solutions focused on improving internal processes and supporting the creation of video games within the company’s ecosystem, including studios like Rockstar Games and 2K.
However, the current context seems to have changed. In recent months, Take-Two has made it clear that Grand Theft Auto VI will not use AI-generated content, a message aimed at reassuring the community amid certain doubts about the game’s creative process.
This move could indicate a deeper internal adjustment, prioritizing traditional development methods just before one of the most important releases of the generation. It remains to be seen whether this is a one-time decision or the beginning of a broader change within the company.
