The State of Decay saga is taking steps towards its next installment, and this time it’s doing so with details that make the project’s direction quite clear. We’re not talking about a full announcement, but rather relevant information that helps us understand what to expect.
Instead of big trailers or presentations, the news comes directly from one of its creators, giving it a more personal and concrete tone. And the truth is that what’s been shared points to a clear evolution compared to what we’ve seen so far in the saga.
The new State of Decay 3 will focus on co-op and new survival strategies
Brant Fitzgerald, co-creator of the franchise, has confirmed that the next game will include co-op mode for up to 4 players, as well as changes in base and resource management. This suggests a more team-focused experience, where every decision can have more weight in the group’s survival.
- He also announced that combat will play a significant role, reinforcing the idea that action will continue to be one of the main pillars. This is added to the classic scavenging system in the midst of a zombie crisis, which will again be crucial for advancing and keeping the community alive.
- Additionally, the team has opened registration to participate in a future alpha phase, inviting players to sign up to test the game before its release. If you’re not selected in this first round, the studio ensures that there will be more opportunities throughout the year.
Everything points to the saga wanting to take a step forward while maintaining its essence, but expanding its possibilities in both co-op and survival management.
