Crimson Desert is experiencing a fairly significant shift in its reception just days after its release. While professional critics have left it with a 78 average score, players are pushing it much higher.
According to current data from Metacritic, the game has already reached a 8.7 user score, a notable difference that is not often seen so quickly after the release of a game of this type.
Players are elevating Crimson Desert’s score above the press
The game’s launch was not particularly smooth in terms of reviews, but as the days have passed, perception has changed. As more players have had time to explore its world and systems, the score has been consistently rising.
- This type of evolution in such a short time is not common, especially in big releases, where the score usually stabilizes sooner. Here, the opposite has happened: word of mouth has worked in the game’s favor.
Additionally, there’s another relevant detail. At Generación Xbox, we also analyzed the game and gave it a 94 out of 100, a score much higher than the current critical average and more in line with what players are reflecting. The difference between critics and users once again opens up the usual debate, but in this case with a clear nuance: the game’s perception is improving over time, and that doesn’t always happen.
