Borderlands 4 is back in the spotlight, but this time for a reason that hasn’t gone down well with the community. Its latest downloadable content has sparked an immediate reaction from players, who have started leaving negative reviews en masse.
The controversy surrounds its most recent expansion, whose price has been the trigger. What should have been an expansion of the game’s content has ended up generating debate about the real value of this type of DLC in the current model.
The Borderlands 4 DLC sparks controversy over its price and content
The expansion Mad Ellie and the Crypt of the Damned, published by Take-Two Interactive, has a price tag of 29.99 €, which many players consider excessive for what it offers.
According to user reviews, the content includes:
- A new area: Whispering Glacier
- A new playable character (Cazador de la Cámara C4SH)
- New challenges and a world boss system
- Additional legendary weapons
- Customization options
The problem, according to a large part of the community, is that all this translates to only a few extra hours of gameplay, which doesn’t quite justify the cost of the DLC.
This is added to another major complaint: the content is not included in the Super Deluxe edition, a version of the game that already had a high price at launch. This has generated even more frustration among those who opted for this edition expecting more comprehensive access to additional content.
For now, there is no official response from the company. Meanwhile, the game’s Steam page continues to accumulate negative reviews, reflecting the discontent of a significant part of the community.
