Project Windless confirms platforms: the RPG will arrive on Xbox

The announcement of Project Windless left many questions in the air, beyond its striking protagonist: a warrior belonging to a race of anthropomorphic birds. Following its recent appearance, Krafton has sought to clear up one of the most frequently asked questions by the community: on which platforms will this open-world action RPG be released?

The company has confirmed that the project is in development for PC and consoles, which includes Xbox Series in its plans. Although no release dates or approximate release windows have been detailed, it is clear that it will not be a title exclusive to a single platform.

Project Windless is Coming to Xbox Series Alongside PC and Other Consoles

The new action RPG is being developed by Krafton Montreal and is inspired by the fantasy novels The Bird That Drinks Tears by South Korean author Lee Youngdo. In this universe, humans coexist with the tokkebi (capable of manipulating fire), the enigmatic nhaga, and the Rekon, the winged race to which the protagonist belongs.

In addition to confirming its multi-platform nature, the studio has shared a first development video explaining its creative vision. The team is working on a vast and detailed open world, with a combat system that combines direct action and unique abilities for each race. They have also revealed that the narrative will play a significant role in the experience.

For now, Project Windless still lacks an official release date and a definitive title, but its arrival on Xbox Series has been on the table from the start. We’ll have to keep an eye on the coming months to learn more about one of the most peculiar projects presented recently.
