The possibility of a third DLC for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is gaining strength after new information from the financial and Polish media sectors. Although CD Projekt RED has not made any official announcement, more and more voices are coinciding that the project not only exists, but would be much more ambitious than the previous expansions.
This time, the details come from the hand of analyst Mateusz Chrzanowski, from Noble Securities, who had previously advanced that this expansion was “practically a fact“. Now, he takes a step further and provides concrete figures on price, budget, and commercial expectations.
Estimated price, high budget, and millions of copies expected for the new DLC of The Witcher 3
- According to the analyst, this third downloadable content would be sold for $30, a price clearly higher than Hearts of Stone ($9.99) and Blood & Wine ($19.99). The difference would not be casual: CD Projekt RED would be betting on a larger-scale expansion, possibly comparable to a standalone game in terms of content.
The development budget would be around $14.5 million, not including marketing expenses. To put it into context, this is a significant investment for a DLC, even considering one of the most successful RPGs in history.
Internal expectations would also be very high. According to these estimates, the Polish studio would expect to sell at least 11 million copies, a figure that many complete productions do not reach. The release would take place in some point in 2026 and would have a strategic objective: serving as a prelude to the promotional campaign of The Witcher 4.
Meanwhile, IGN Poland has added another relevant detail: the content could be developed in a completely new map, which would reinforce the idea that we are not facing a simple addition, but an expansion designed to revitalize interest in The Witcher 3 almost a decade after its release.
As always in these cases, it is worth emphasizing that this is unconfirmed information. However, the context, sources, and figures handled suggest that CD Projekt RED may still have a very important card up its sleeve for one of the most influential RPGs of all time.
