Square Enix has made it clear that their plan for the Final Fantasy VII remake project is to bring the entire trilogy to Xbox Series, reinforcing their strategy of taking their big releases to an increasingly wide audience, leaving behind the prolonged exclusivity of previous stages.
The starting point is Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, which marks the beginning of the remake’s expansion to new platforms. From there, the goal is for all three installments to be part of the Xbox Series catalog, in addition to being available on PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.
The Final Fantasy VII Trilogy Finds a Home on Xbox Series
Square Enix confirms that the Final Fantasy VII remake project is conceived as a whole, and no platform will be left out in its entirety. This includes both already released installments and those still to come.
The third and final part of the trilogy is currently in development and will serve as the definitive conclusion to this ambitious reimagining of the classic. Although no release dates or additional details have been shared, the message is clear: Xbox Series is part of the saga’s long-term plans.
This approach is especially significant news for Xbox players, who will be able to follow the complete story without gaps or absences between installments. Square Enix is thus entering a new era of openness, where their major productions are no longer tied to a single console and are instead opting for true multi-platform distribution.
With no further official announcements on the horizon, the confirmation makes it clear that Final Fantasy VII will have a full presence on Xbox Series, from start to finish.
