Players of PUBG: Battlegrounds on consoles should mark their calendars for November 13, 2025. This will be the date when the popular battle royale will definitively abandon Xbox One and PS4 to focus on the current generation with Xbox Series and PlayStation 5.

The decision, announced by the PUBG team, is part of their 2025 roadmap and aims to offer a more stable environment, with technical improvements and the possibility of implementing future updates without the hardware limitations of the previous generation. The change will bring optimized graphics, more stability, and up to 60 FPS on all next-gen platforms.

Starting from the scheduled maintenance on November 13, PUBG will only be playable on Xbox Series or PS5. Account data, progress, and purchases will remain intact, so you can simply access the game from a compatible console to continue playing.

On Xbox, the update will be downloaded automatically thanks to Smart Delivery, while on PlayStation, you’ll need to download the new version from the PlayStation Store. Support for Xbox One and PS4 will be completely discontinued after that date.

The studio has also confirmed that the game will remain fully cross-platform, maintaining performance parity between systems to ensure competitiveness. Xbox Series S will have a performance mode and a resolution mode to adapt to each player’s preferences.
