Xbox has more than one trick up its sleeve for 2025, and some of them might be about to come to light. The reliable leaker billbil-kun has revealed details about two unannounced releases that could land this fall on Xbox Series and other platforms. And yes, both names will sound familiar to you.
On one hand, there’s talk of the return of one of the most iconic games in the casual strategy genre. On the other, a new installment of a character as quirky as they are unmistakable. Two radically different proposals that could liven up the catalog before the year ends.
A highly anticipated remaster and a new SpongeBob game
- The first would be Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted, a full remaster of the original classic, which would arrive on Xbox Series, PS5, and PC on October 23rd. This new title, not yet official but leaked by reliable sources, would take us back to the battlefield with improved graphics and a general overhaul of the game. Its price would be around 19.99€, and its announcement would be imminent.
- The second title would be SpongeBob SquarePants: Tide Titans, a new adventure starring SpongeBob that would arrive on Xbox Series on November 18th. In this case, the official presentation could take place during THQ Nordic’s event scheduled for August 1st. The game would cost around $40, and everything points to a new experience with voices, mechanics, and fresh content for fans of the character.
In any case, these two leaked titles would be just a small sample of what’s to come, because on Xbox, we have many more games confirmed for this year.
Among the most notable ones, we can mention Gears of War: Reloaded, the long-awaited return of the action saga; Ninja Gaiden 4, which promises brutal and spectacular combat; and The Outer Worlds 2, the sequel to Obsidian’s acclaimed RPG that will once again offer us weighty decisions and a unique setting.
Although there’s no confirmation from the companies yet, the source behind the leak has a long history of accuracy, so everything suggests that these releases are more than likely on track. We’ll see if Xbox announces them soon, but if everything goes as planned, the end of 2025 could be more exciting than expected.
