Xbox expands its Retro Classics collection with four new free games with Game Pass

Microsoft adds more titles to its backward compatibility program, available at no extra cost and also on Xbox Game Pass.

Xbox Retro Classics, the initiative that brings back games from past decades to modern consoles, keeps growing. Microsoft has announced the addition of four new titles to the collection, which join the retro catalog available since May 2025. Although the list is shorter than in previous updates, each new addition expands the historical Xbox library at no extra cost.

These classics will be available for both direct download and within the Xbox Game Pass catalog, allowing you to rediscover authentic references from the 80s and 90s.

• BattleTech: The Crescent Hawk’s Inception (1989) – Amiga

• BattleTech: The Crescent Hawks’ Revenge (1990) – DOS

• Ice Hockey (1981) – Atari 2600

• Moonsweeper (1983) – Atari 2600

The inclusion of these gems demonstrates Microsoft’s commitment to preserving the history of video games, offering current players the chance to revive titles that marked generations.

The new Retro Classics are now available in the Xbox ecosystem, ready to install and enjoy on both Xbox Series and PC, within the Game Pass service.
