Xbox could recover an annual subscription for Game Pass Essential with a reduced price

Microsoft could be preparing the return of a highly requested option by Xbox players. A recently appeared image shows a possible annual subscription for Xbox Game Pass Essential, something that currently does not exist in an official capacity within the standard plans available for the service.

The screenshot shows a 12-month model for $79.99, a formula that directly recalls the old annual subscriptions that Xbox offered years ago before the changes made to Game Pass during the last generations.

The new annual subscription for Xbox Pass Essential would be cheaper

Currently, the official Xbox Game Pass Essential model works through smaller periodic payments:

• 1 month — $9.99
• 3 months — $24.99

The appearance of this possible annual option would mean a significant savings compared to the traditional monthly payment, in addition to recovering a modality that many players have been asking for for a long time to simplify the renewal of the service.

For now, Microsoft has not made any official announcement about this new subscription format, so we will have to wait to see if it finally arrives for all users or if it is just an internal or regional test within the Xbox ecosystem.
