XBOX and Game Pass explode August with a avalanche of confirmed releases

Next month will bring big premieres, new franchises and two major additions from day one to Xbox Game Pass.

There are still a few days left to bid farewell to July with some very powerful games, but August is already starting to take shape as one of the most interesting months of the summer for Xbox. The calendar continues to grow, and, unless there’s a surprise, the coming weeks will bring some of the most anticipated titles of the second half of the year.

With new IPs, highly anticipated sequels, and several major comebacks, Xbox players will have plenty of reasons to keep their SSD ready. Additionally, Xbox Game Pass will once again add new releases from day one.

This is the Xbox release calendar for August

• August 4 – Beast of Reincarnation (also available from day one on Xbox Game Pass).
• August 13 – Defender of the Crown: The Legend Returns.
• August 14 – Mafia: The Old Country – Man of Honor Expansion.
• August 15 – Hell Let Loose: Vietnam.
• August 18 – The Sinking City 2.
• August 20 – Mortal Shell II.
• August 20 – Steins;Gate Re:Boot.
• August 25 – Once Human.
• August 27 – Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2.
• August 27 – Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy (available at launch on Xbox Game Pass).
• August 27 – Star Wars Zero Company.
• August 28 – Captain Tsubasa II: World Fighters.

Two Game Pass releases and a powerful end to the month

• Although the month will start with Beast of Reincarnation, it’s the last week that will grab most of the attention. August 27 is shaping up to be one of the most important dates of the summer for Xbox, thanks to the release of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2, Star Wars Zero Company, and Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, the latter of which will be available at no extra cost to Xbox Game Pass subscribers.

Horror fans will also have a double date with The Sinking City 2 and Hell Let Loose: Vietnam, while those looking for more relaxed experiences will find options like Steins;Gate Re:Boot or Defender of the Crown: The Legend Returns.

As is usual, this calendar is not yet closed. New titles for Xbox may be announced in the coming days, so August still has room to become an even more complete month for platform players.
