VALORANT sets date for the arrival of Corrode: its new map inspired by post-apocalyptic medieval France

Riot Games has officially announced the arrival of Corrode, the new Valorant map that will debut on June 25, 2025 with Season 2025 // Act IV. The map brings a unique design, inspired by French medieval architecture fused with industrial aesthetics, in a devastated Omega scenario due to climate change.

The map not only expands the playable experience but also reinforces the narrative background of the Valorant universe. Specifically, Corrode is directly linked to the effects of the First Light, an event that transformed the planet, causing ocean evaporation, extreme climate alterations, and radianite storms. For the first time, these events are visible at an environmental level thanks to completely new background animations.

Corrode in Valorant: design, modes, and competitive advantages

Corrode will be incorporated directly into competitive queues from its launch day, but with a special measure: during the first two weeks, players will lose 50% less PR when playing on Corrode, although they will still earn 100% if they achieve victory. Additionally, it will be available in Rapid Mode from June 25 to 30, with a dedicated queue.

Among its main features are:

• Two Spike zones

• Three well-differentiated streets

• Layered defense with retreat options

• Design that limits excessive ability aggression

The map is designed to favor a more tactical game, reducing explosive exchanges and promoting constant adaptation. This makes it a fresh proposal for both experienced players and those looking to explore new strategies.

New Act IV content and Phaseguard collection

Along with the map, Riot also launches a new line of futuristic designs under the name of Phaseguard. This collection focuses on cutting-edge technology and applies to the following weapons:

• Vandal

• Outlaw

• Ghost

• Bulldog

• And a brand-new melee weapon: the Divisor

On the other hand, the new battle pass includes several highlighted items such as:

• Card 5 Years: Death to the Radiants

• Amulet Bonsai

• Vandal ATLAS // CMD

• Sprays and other additional cosmetic items

Valorant thus reinforces its commitment to regular high-quality content, integrating artistic design, competitive progression, and direct connection to its history. Corrode promises to become one of the most visually striking maps in the game, and a new key scenario for the tactical scene.
