In recent hours, the idea has spread like wildfire that Grand Theft Auto VI could suffer yet another delay, an interpretation that even affected the stock market value of Take-Two Interactive. However, the origin of the rumor has been clarified by its own protagonist.
Jason Schreier has come forward to make it clear that he never stated that GTA 6 will be delayed again. The journalist explained that his words were taken out of context from a podcast and that, at no point, did he mention a confirmed or imminent postponement.
Schreier never spoke of a new GTA 6 delay
In his public clarification, Schreier pointed out that all he said was that he wouldn’t be surprised if the game arrives this fall, following a similar pattern to Red Dead Redemption 2, which also suffered delays before finally meeting its release window. At no point did he say that GTA 6 will be delayed again.
- The confusion came, as he explains, from a generic phrase: “another delay is possible, since it’s a video game“. A logical statement within the industry, but one that did not imply a specific prediction about the future of Rockstar Games‘ project.
For now, there is no solid indication of a new delay, and everything still points to the scheduled release date. Schreier himself was surprised by the extent of the misunderstanding and how a partial reading of his words ended up fueling alarmist headlines.
As of today, November 19, 2026 remains marked on the calendar, and there is no reliable information to suggest otherwise.
