Now that we’re in the midst of review and ranking season, the list of the most played video games of 2025 in the United States has been revealed, and the result doesn’t leave much room for surprise. Far from showing significant changes, the ranking is identical to last year’s, with the same names and positions.
The data has been shared by Mat Piscatella, an analyst at Circana, one of the most common sources for measuring the behavior of the video game market in North America.
This was the Top 5 most played games in the United States during 2025
According to the published figures, these were the top 5 titles with the most players throughout the year:
-
Fortnite
-
Call of Duty
-
Grand Theft Auto V
-
Roblox
-
Minecraft
The reading is clear: the Top 5 not only repeats the same protagonists, but also the exact same order as 2024. A year later, American players are still spending most of their time on the same titles, all of which have a huge user base, constant support, and long-term service models.
Everything suggests that this situation could continue for a while longer. As of today, only a massive release could disrupt this balance, and many are looking directly to the next big industry release as the only one capable of shaking up a list that, for the second consecutive year, remains completely stagnant.
