In recent years, Steam has incorporated various tools to identify relevant reviews or detect unreliable ratings. But now, this new feature takes a step further by allowing each analysis to be accompanied by the configuration of the PC used, something especially relevant in demanding titles or those with optimization issues.
Steam allows adding PC configuration to reviews
As of today, users can attach their equipment’s technical specifications to their review. This makes it easier to understand the conditions under which the game was tested and helps to better interpret comments about performance, stability, or graphics quality.
For example, if someone reports performance drops, it will now be possible to check if the problem might be related to outdated or limited hardware. Similarly, it will also be possible to detect the opposite case: players with high-end equipment who don’t notice certain issues that may appear on more modest configurations.
According to the change log of the latest client update, it will also be possible to edit old reviews to add this technical information. This opens the door for many previous opinions to be updated with more details, improving the overall transparency of the system.
