Users of Xbox on PC can now find Red Dead Redemption within the official Xbox app. The Rockstar classic is now available on Microsoft’s platform for computers, although with a significant difference compared to other recent releases in the ecosystem.
Although the game is not compatible with Xbox Play Anywhere, it does include Xbox achievements, so players can unlock them and keep their progress associated with their Microsoft account.
Red Dead Redemption arrives on the Xbox app for PC
This version includes both the original game and the Undead Nightmare expansion, offering the complete experience on computers with a series of technical improvements compared to the original edition. Among its main features, we have:
- Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare included.
- Xbox achievements integrated.
- No Xbox Play Anywhere compatibility.
- Native 4K resolution.
- Compatibility with HDR.
- Up to 144 Hz on compatible equipment.
- Support for ultrawide (21:9) and super ultrawide (32:9) monitors.
- Configurable draw distance.
- Advanced settings for shadow quality and other graphics parameters.
Although the lack of Xbox Play Anywhere means that the purchase does not offer automatic access on both console and PC, the inclusion of Xbox achievements reinforces the title’s integration within the Microsoft ecosystem.
The arrival of Red Dead Redemption on the Xbox app for PC is also good news for those who prefer to centralize their library in one place and continue to expand their achievement profile without leaving the Xbox platform.
