The return of one of Capcom’s most memorable sagas is getting closer. After confirming its release for September and making a free demo available to players, the Japanese company has taken the opportunity to reveal what type of computer will be needed to dive into the new adventure of Onimusha: Way of the Sword.
The good news is that we’re not dealing with one of those titles that require top-of-the-line hardware. Although it’s still an ambitious production, the published requirements show that many mid-range PCs from recent years will be able to run it without too many issues.
The recommended equipment for playing Onimusha: Way of the Sword on PC
If your goal is to enjoy the game with a smooth experience at 60 FPS in Full HD resolution, Capcom recommends the following configuration:
| Component | Recommended |
|---|---|
| Operating System | Windows 11 |
| Processor | Intel Core i5-10400 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 |
| RAM | 16 GB |
| Graphics Card | NVIDIA RTX 2060 Super 8 GB or AMD Radeon RX 6600 8 GB |
| Storage | 50 GB SSD |
For those with more modest equipment, the game will also have a fairly accessible minimum configuration:
| Component | Minimum |
|---|---|
| Operating System | Windows 11 |
| Processor | Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 3 3100 |
| RAM | 16 GB |
| Graphics Card | NVIDIA GTX 1660 6 GB or AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT 8 GB |
| Storage | 50 GB SSD |
There’s an important detail to keep in mind. Capcom specifies that the performance figures shown are based on upscaling technologies like DLSS 4.5 and AMD FSR 3.1, so the final result will also depend on the configuration chosen by each user.
Capcom has also confirmed that the PC version of Onimusha: Way of the Sword will use the Denuvo anti-piracy technology from day one, a measure common in the company’s recent major releases.
In any case, the requirements leave a positive impression. While other recent major releases have significantly raised the demands on PC, Onimusha: Way of the Sword seems to be opting for a much more reasonable entry barrier. If you have an RTX 2060 Super, an RX 6600, or something similar, everything indicates that you’ll be able to take on the return of Capcom’s legendary saga without needing to upgrade your equipment.
