Rockstar Games is once again in the spotlight after a new security incident that could indirectly affect Grand Theft Auto VI. According to reports, a group of hackers claims to have accessed internal company data and is threatening to make it public.
The situation, although not yet officially confirmed, has generated concern about the type of information that could be exposed, especially regarding one of the most anticipated releases of the year.
Hackers threaten to leak GTA 6 information and internal data
The group, known as ShinyHunters, claims to have accessed Rockstar’s data through an external analysis tool, avoiding a direct attack on the main systems. According to their statements, they would have in their possession financial records, player spending data, contracts, and marketing plans related to GTA 6.
Additionally, they have set a deadline: April 14, 2026. If they do not receive the requested ransom, they will publish all the obtained information. So far, no sample has been leaked to confirm the actual extent of the access.
Neither Take-Two Interactive nor Rockstar has made any statements regarding this, maintaining absolute silence as the situation evolves.
In any case, everything suggests that this incident would not affect the development or release of GTA 6, as it does not involve code or playable material. However, it could lead to leaks about commercial or strategic aspects of the game.
We will have to be attentive to the next few days to see if the company responds or if a relevant leak finally occurs.
