The title in question, known until now as Qixia Diary Chapter 1: Welcome to Qixia Cottage, will be renamed simply Qixia Diary. According to its developers, the change is solely a branding issue and will not affect the content or gameplay experience.
This free Steam game will start costing $3.99
The developer has confirmed that as of March 1, 2026, the game will no longer be free and will cost $3.99 (18 CNY). The good news is clear: those who add it to their account before that date will keep it forever without additional cost.
The team explains that this decision aims to improve long-term support, fund future updates, and optimize the overall experience. In other words, the change to a paid model will allow the project to be maintained and expanded over time.
The game’s main content will not be modified with the name change. It’s just an identity update, so those already playing it won’t notice any differences beyond the title in the store.
