Just a few days before the release of Forza Horizon 6, there was a question that many PC players were still asking themselves before deciding where to buy the game or even if they should pre-order it. Especially those who are concerned about performance, offline play, or certain anti-piracy systems.
Now we have an official answer. According to Windows Central, after contacting Xbox directly, Forza Horizon 6 will not use Denuvo DRM on PC.
Forza Horizon 6 will not have Denuvo on PC
The information initially appeared after checking the game’s official Steam page, which did not show any reference to Denuvo, something that is usually indicated quite clearly when a title uses this protection system. Later, Windows Central claims to have received direct confirmation from Xbox stating that Forza Horizon 6 does not include Denuvo DRM.
This is a highly celebrated news among many PC players, as this system has been controversial within the community for years. Although it’s not always the case, there have been instances where the implementation of Denuvo affected game performance, loading times, or overall stability.
Additionally, many players also criticize its dependence on online validation and potential issues with playing offline. However, although the game will not use Denuvo, standard DRM protection will still exist within the Xbox and Game Pass ecosystem, especially in the version distributed through the Xbox app for PC.
Forza Horizon 6 will officially arrive on May 19th, although those with Premium early access will be able to start playing from May 15th. Preloading is already available on both Xbox Series and Steam, as well as PC.
