Cronos: The New Dawn is back with a bang. Bloober Team has released an extended first look at its new sci-fi horror title, which combines time travel, demanding combat, and an artistic department full of decadent and oppressive atmosphere.
In this new video, over 10 minutes long, key areas of the game such as Foggy Islands and The Hospital are shown for the first time, while central mechanics like the feared Fusion of enemies and the narrative system of temporal jumping between two eras are presented.
Fusion, Horror, and Time Travel in the New Cronos: The New Dawn Gameplay
In Cronos: The New Dawn, we play as the Traveler, an agent of the mysterious Collective who travels from a dystopian future to extract key individuals before an inevitable apocalypse. Throughout his mission, he will traverse two connected timelines: 1980s Poland and a decomposed future, merged by anomalies that distort reality and space.
One of the most striking points of the video is the Fusion mechanic: if the bodies of fallen enemies, known as The Orphans, are not burned, they can be absorbed by others, giving rise to new, more aggressive, faster, and more resistant abominations. A system that forces you to make quick decisions, manage resources, and anticipate chaos in combat.
Terror, one of the game’s boss entities, is also shown, as well as locations like the hospital, turned into an oppressive labyrinth, and the Foggy Islands, where visibility is almost zero. All this accompanied by a visual style that combines post-apocalyptic brutalism, psychological horror, and distorted folklore echoes.
Cronos: The New Dawn still has no confirmed release date, but it will arrive on Xbox and PC consoles. Bloober Team has promised more details soon, and if the trailer’s tone serves as a preview, it will be one of the most unsettling releases in the catalog.
