In recent days, rumors about the uncertain state of BioShock 4 have resurfaced with force. Some sources pointed to a silent cancellation of the remake of the first game, and many eyes have also turned to the future of the fourth main installment of the saga. The lack of official information has not helped, and this has fueled distrust among the most veteran players.
However, Take-Two’s own CEO, Strauss Zelnick, has stepped forward during the presentation of results to dispel doubts. In statements collected by IGN, the executive has been clear: “BioShock 4 is going to come out, I say with all my heart and without a doubt”. With this phrase, Zelnick wants to put an end to the cancellation rumors once and for all.
The new BioShock is still on track despite its complications
As the CEO of Take-Two acknowledged, the development of BioShock 4 has not been easy. There have been changes in leadership, internal restructuring, and fluctuations in the project’s direction. Still, Zelnick appears confident: “We have a very important task to continue, given the legacy that Ken Levine left us”, he assured. His intention is for the new title to be faithful to the spirit of the saga, but also represent a step forward.
Although everything suggests that the game is still far from being publicly shown, this confirmation serves to calm the mood. Recent leaks spoke of a possible imminent announcement, but the official statements reflect that development is ongoing, with no release dates in sight.
As for the supposed remake of the original BioShock, for now, there is no official response, which could indicate that this project has been paused or even discarded. We will have to keep an eye on the next moves of Cloud Chamber and Take-Two to know when we will return to the world of BioShock.
