Resident Evil is back in the spotlight with a massive leak that’s already generating a lot of buzz among fans of the series. According to new information shared on forums and specialized communities, Capcom allegedly has several major projects in the works related to the franchise, including new remakes and the next main installment in the series.
The information comes from posts on Reddit in the GamingLeaksAndRumours community and mixes details about supposed internal meetings, codenames, and main characters from future games. As always, it’s best to take everything with a grain of salt since nothing has been officially confirmed.
The alleged plans leaked by Capcom for Resident Evil
Among the most striking details of the rumor are the following projects:
- Remake of Devil May Cry in development
- Remake of Resident Evil Zero
- Remake of Resident Evil Code Veronica
- New remake of the original Resident Evil
- Development of Resident Evil 10
According to the leak, during an internal meeting held between June and July 2022, the green light was allegedly given to several of these projects simultaneously.
Additionally, the games would have supposed internal codenames:
- Project Chambers (Resident Evil Zero)
- Project Fallen (Resident Evil)
- Project Redlife (Resident Evil 10)
Another important detail is that the remake of the first Resident Evil would have been in pre-production since 2022 or 2023 and would have recently moved into full production. The leak also claims that Claire Redfield would be the protagonist of Resident Evil 10, while Ada Wong would appear in a supposed DLC related to Resident Evil 9. There’s even mention of the possibility of multiple expansions planned for that installment.
For now, Capcom hasn’t confirmed anything, and everything is still in the realm of rumors, although many players are already speculating about future announcements given the franchise’s recent massive success.
