The Steam catalog continues to add intriguing proposals, and one of the most attention-grabbing ones lately is The Abased, a new third-person action RPG inspired by biblical tales. The project has sparked interest among players due to its unusual setting and the story of its protagonist.
In this game, we embody Elyhias, a former Faith Executor who used to hunt heretics. However, the title begins years after that period, when the world has been hit by several plagues and the protagonist himself has fallen into disfavor.

The story places Elyhias in a desperate situation: he has contracted leprosy and has been banished from the city he once protected, setting the tone for the player’s journey. As the adventure progresses, the character also starts to lose his sight and part of his humanity, adding a dramatic element to the narrative.
In terms of gameplay, The Abased bets on third-person combat where the protagonist uses swords and a sling to face off against gigantic creatures that dominate the game’s devastated world. The first images shown reveal battles against enormous enemies, in a setup that recalls the classic David vs. Goliath confrontation.

For now, the project has only been announced for Steam and does not yet have a confirmed release date. Nevertheless, its blend of religious atmosphere, action, and dark fantasy has made it one of those titles that quickly spark curiosity within the PC community.
