Although much of CD Projekt RED’s attention remains focused on The Witcher 4 and the upcoming Cyberpunk 2, the Polish studio is quietly moving forward with Hadar, a brand-new, completely original license that we still know very little about. However, a recent job listing has revealed some interesting hints about the project.
The company confirmed a few months ago that the game had officially entered pre-production, and now new references suggest that we’re looking at a large-scale proposal that will follow some of the hallmarks that have made CD Projekt RED one of the most recognized studios in the industry.
Hadar will be an open-world RPG with big ambitions
According to a job listing published by the studio, CD Projekt is looking for a technical director to help develop an immersive experience within the Hadar universe. The document specifically mentions the intention to create an open world capable of leaving a mark on players, thus reinforcing a feature that had not been publicly confirmed until now.
This isn’t particularly surprising, given the studio’s history. Both The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 featured massive open worlds filled with stories, characters, and side activities, so it seems that Hadar will follow a similar philosophy.
Additionally, previous job listings had already suggested that the story will play a significant role in the project. CD Projekt had been looking for designers specializing in creating emotionally charged narrative experiences, something that fits perfectly with the type of RPG the studio has become famous for in recent years.
For now, there are no images, confirmed platforms, or an approximate release window. The only certainty is that Hadar is part of CD Projekt RED’s ambitious future, alongside The Witcher 4 and the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077. There’s still a long way to go, but everything suggests that the studio wants to turn this new license into another one of its major projects for the next generation of role-playing games.
