While Forza Horizon 6 continues to accumulate millions of players on Xbox and PC, part of the talent behind the saga is already ready to officially showcase their next big project. Maverick Games, the studio founded by former Playground Games executives, has confirmed that their new game will be unveiled very soon.
The company has started an official countdown that will end on June 2nd, when we’ll see the new driving game they’ve been secretly developing for years for the first time.
The new game from the former Forza Horizon creators will be revealed on June 2nd
- Schedule: The presentation will take place on June 2nd at 11:00 AM in Spain, while in Mexico it will be at 04:00 AM and in Colombia at 05:00 AM.
The teaser published by Maverick Games has drawn attention for featuring an unexpected FIAT Multipla inside the studio’s offices, which has quickly generated jokes and theories within the community. But beyond that, what’s really important is who’s behind the project.
Maverick Games was founded by Mike Brown, former creative director of Forza Horizon, accompanied by several former key executives from Playground Games who were directly involved in the huge success of the Xbox saga. The names involved include figures related to technical direction, art, sound, and production of the previous Forza Horizon games, which has automatically sparked interest in the project.
For now, we know that the new game will be an open-world driving proposal with a more cinematic approach and narrative elements. The script is being written by Jamie Brittain, co-creator of the popular British series Skins. Initially, the project was going to be published under the Amazon Games label, but Maverick Games eventually regained its independence in 2026.
We’ll be paying close attention to the announcement because, given the team’s history, many players are already expecting one of the biggest driving games of the next few years.
