Everything points to Valve preparing something important for the coming weeks. After the recent leak related to the new Steam Controller, information is now emerging that directly points to the expected return of Steam Machine, the domestic hardware project with which the company wants to compete again in the living room gaming market.
Although Valve has not made any official announcement, recent information assures that the company is already finalizing details related to the final price and release date of the device. And seeing the movement being generated around the Steam ecosystem, it seems clear that the project is regaining momentum.
Valve could announce the new Steam Machine very soon
According to the latest information surrounding the project, there is considerable confidence within Valve that the official announcement is very close. The company would have spent the last few months discussing issues related to hardware pricing and the possibility of initially selling the machine at a loss to accelerate its adoption in the market.
The situation would not have been easy for the company. Various problems related to components and production would have affected the initially planned schedule for early 2026. Even so, Valve would continue to work with the intention of maintaining the launch within this same year and avoiding a delay until 2027.
All this also fits with the recent leak of the new Steam Controller, a controller that, according to rumors, would have a price close to $99 and would be part of the new hardware ecosystem that Valve is preparing.
For now, it’s a matter of waiting for official moves, but the feeling is that Steam Machine is once again much closer to becoming a reality. And seeing the success achieved by Steam Deck in recent years, it wouldn’t be surprising if Valve wants to take another step forward in the gaming hardware market.
