Major departure at Microsoft: Kiki Wolfkill, one of the most veteran figures linked to the Xbox universe and especially to Halo, has officially announced that she is leaving the company after nearly three decades.

Wolfkill herself confirmed the news on LinkedIn, describing the decision as “difficult but exciting”, making it clear that she now wants to explore new professional paths outside of Microsoft.

Kiki Wolfkill was a key figure in Halo and Xbox entertainment

Over the past few years, Wolfkill held the position of head of film and television at Xbox, overseeing projects related to the audiovisual adaptations of the brand’s franchises.

However, her name is especially linked to Halo. Throughout her career, she held several important positions within the saga:

• Executive producer of the Halo TV series
• Head of Halo Transmedia & Entertainment from 2015 to 2022
• Executive producer of Halo 4 during the Xbox 360 era
• Art director at Microsoft Game Studios for many years

In fact, her career at Microsoft began even before the release of the original Xbox, participating in various creative projects within the gaming division.

In her farewell message, Wolfkill wanted to thank the support she received over the years and highlighted the learning accumulated within the company:

“I learned to listen, lead, take responsibility, and care deeply about the team and the audience.”

For now, she has not revealed what her next professional destination will be, although she assures that “there is more news to come” about that new stage.

Wolfkill’s departure represents another significant move within Xbox at a time when the company is still undergoing internal changes and redefining part of its strategy for the future.
