Albion Online is finally making its leap to Xbox. Sandbox Interactive has confirmed that the popular free-to-play MMORPG will arrive on Xbox Series on April 21, 2026, opening the door to a new community of console players after nearly a decade of availability on PC and mobile devices.
The news is significant not only because of the game’s arrival on a new ecosystem but also because the studio assures that this version has been specifically optimized for console, with a revamped interface and combat adjustments to make it feel more natural with a controller. Additionally, players who already play on other platforms will be able to use the same account.
Albion Online on Xbox Series will feature cross-play and shared accounts
Sandbox Interactive has explained that Albion Online will maintain full cross-play with PC, iOS, and Android, which is especially interesting in a game of this type, where community and shared economy are essential to the experience. This means that Xbox players won’t be isolated, but will instead enter the same persistent world that has been running for years on other platforms.
The studio has also highlighted that the game has reached peaks of over 350,000 daily active users, a figure that reflects the good health of a proposal that has managed to stay alive for a long time. Now it remains to be seen how the console audience will respond to a sandbox MMORPG that bets on total freedom, PvP, player-created economy, and open progression. For Xbox, it’s certainly a notable addition for the month of April.
