Although the update has already started rolling out on some platforms, Xbox players will receive this patch soon, along with the Epic Games Store and Mac App Store versions.
Improvements in Missions, Gameplay, and Combat
One of the most notable changes in the patch is the addition of a tutorial mission at the beginning of Chapter 3, designed to help players better understand the functionality of Abyss Teams.
Several issues that prevented some missions from progressing correctly have also been resolved, which had been reported by the community. In terms of gameplay, the team has made various balance adjustments and changes to certain mechanics, including:
-
Adjustment of the difficulty of QTEs when captured by enemies, which will now increase progressively.
-
Removal of the instant death damage from the bear and adjustments to its overall damage
-
Improvements to the functioning of some systems, including the lodging mode.
-
Fixes for content that was not working as intended.
New Improvements in Skills and Bosses
The patch also introduces adjustments and new options to the skill system. For example, the “Observe and Learn” function has been improved to make it more intuitive, and the skill menu has been reorganized to separate names and descriptions by weapon type.
New combat possibilities have also been added:
-
New finishing move for Kliff’s “Artillery Position” skill
-
New combo with giant sword for Damiane
-
New combo attack with dual wield for Oongka
In addition, adjustments have been made to several boss battles, including changes to the battle against Tenebrum in Chapter 4, which now avoids having to repeat a puzzle section after dying, as well as improvements to the balance of enemies like the Reed Demon.
Improvements in NPCs, Interface, and Performance
The update also includes numerous technical and quality-of-life adjustments. These include improvements to NPC animations, dialogue, and reactions, fixes to lip sync, and adjustments to subtitles. Issues related to interactions with characters and animals have also been resolved.
On a technical level, the patch includes:
-
Fixes to the user interface
-
Improvements to localization and translations
-
Performance and stability optimization on PC and consoles
-
Fixes for some unexpected game closures
With this first major patch, Crimson Desert begins its post-launch improvement process, and Xbox players will be able to receive this update in the coming weeks, along with the rest of the platforms.
