One of them is clearly superior in the first hours of the game.

Resident Evil Requiem not only plays with tension and resource management, but also hides weapons that can go unnoticed if you don’t explore every nook and cranny. During the first hours with Grace, there are more options than it seems, and one of them makes a big difference in combat.

After the brief prologue in the hotel, the action moves to the Rhodes Hill Care Center, where the first important decisions about which weapon to use and when begin to appear. Although the game provides you with mandatory equipment to progress, there is an alternative pistol that many players don’t find in their first playthrough.
Pistols available for Grace in Resident Evil Requiem
In this initial phase, you can access three firearms:
-
Requiem (Leon): very powerful, but with extremely limited ammunition. It’s recommended to save it for critical situations.
-
B934: the standard pistol you pick up in the west wing’s dining room. It’s the basis during the early stages.
-
S&S M232: Grace’s alternative pistol and the most interesting one in this part of the game.
The S&S M232 is hidden in the west wing of the medical center, specifically in the bar. It’s easy to miss because the room is infested and has a special enemy that can stun Grace for a few seconds.
The S&S M232 uses the same ammunition as the B934, but offers more damage and a larger magazine, making it the best option as a primary weapon during this section. If you get it early, you’ll notice the difference in close combat and high-pressure situations.
