In recent weeks, rumors have resurfaced about a possible new expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Although CD Projekt RED has not officially announced any additional DLC, several sources and insiders claim that the studio is preparing a surprise content for 2026.
The debate has intensified after the company’s latest financial report, which mentions scheduled releases for that year despite no new main games being planned. Some interpret this reference as a possible hint about additional content for the RPG starring Geralt.
Rumors about The Witcher 3’s secret DLC and its possible connection to The Witcher 4
According to various leaks, this hypothetical expansion would serve as a narrative bridge to The Witcher 4, where Ciri would take on the protagonist role. If this theory is true, we would be facing Geralt’s last adventure before definitively passing the narrative focus.
- In terms of setting, there was initially talk of Zerrikania, a region barely explored in the saga. However, the latest rumors point to an expansion of Velen, expanding existing areas with new points of interest, dungeons, and unprecedented missions. This option would allow for reduced development costs by reusing part of the original map.
- Regarding the release window, some sources place the launch in May 2026, coinciding with the tenth anniversary of Blood and Wine. As for the price, speculation suggests a figure similar to previous expansions, between $19.99 and $29.99, depending on its size.
For now, everything should be taken as unconfirmed information. Until CD Projekt RED makes an official statement, it’s best to remain cautious, although the possibility of returning to Geralt’s world with new content is, at the very least, interesting for fans of the saga.
