One of the surprises from the recent February event was the announcement of Dead or Alive 6: Last Round, a revised version of the 3D fighting game with additional content and new features. However, the news hasn’t sat well with those who already own the base game.
According to the support team at Koei Tecmo, there will be no free update or special discount for owners of Dead or Alive 6. This means that those who want to upgrade to the new edition will have to purchase it at full price.
No Upgrade for Dead or Alive 6: Last Round
Dead or Alive 6: Last Round will include additional characters, photo mode, and other improvements compared to the original version. However, the support team has clearly stated that there are no current plans to offer an upgrade system or discount for those who already purchased Dead or Alive 6.
That being said, some of the downloadable content purchased in the original version may be transferable to the new edition, although the methods and exact conditions have not been detailed yet. More information is expected to be released soon about this process.
Additionally, it has been confirmed that some guest characters will not be present in Last Round. Specifically, Mai Shiranui and Kula Diamond will not be part of this new version, which could be related to licensing issues, although no official explanation has been provided.
The decision has sparked debate within the community, especially among those who were expecting some kind of compensation for supporting the game since its original release. We’ll have to wait and see the final price and complete list of contents to assess the true scope of this re-release.
